Education Trust
This site contains useful reports on student achievement and a link to an interactive database (edwatch) on achievement gaps between student groups and national achievement trends. There is also a special parent section.


National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education (NCPIE)
NCPIE is a coalition of major education, community, public service, and advocacy organizations working to create meaningful family-school-community partnerships in every school in America. Every month, NCPIE posts information about NCLB for parents.


National PTA
The National PTA is the largest volunteer organization in the country and is dedicated to providing relevant resource materials for parents in public education.  Their web site includes a wealth of information and parent materials, published in English and Spanish.  Resources for members include advice on what parents can do to get involved in implementing NCLB.


Southwest Educational Development Laboratory (SEDL)
This comprehensive site includes research that investigates the link between family engagement and student achievement.  Click on resources to find:

National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS)
The Network provides a framework for comprehensive parent involvement, provides technical assistance to member schools, and publishes research in family-school-community partnerships. The site has NCLB resource materials specific to parents’ right to know and parent options.


Public Education Network
This advocacy organization represents local public education funds and offers tools and publications for implementing NCLB.

American Psychological Association
Everyone in education should read the APA's Learner Centered Psychological Principles. This is site is a good foundation for teachers or for anyone who would like to see our students learn better.
