Special Education Philosophy

The Fall Mountain Regional School District is committed to providing a caring community of dedicated staff and involved parents to meet the diverse academic, emotional and social needs of students with educational disabilities in a respectful and positive environment.
We strive to help all students feel challenged and empowered to become active and contributing members of society based on their individual strengths and abilities.  Emphasis is placed on accountability and collaboration, which includes communication among those who support students’ overall growth and development: students, families, educators, service providers and community members.  Access to general education opportunities is the right of every student. 
We are dedicated in our efforts to provide the necessary supports for all students to learn in their communities to the maximum extent appropriate.  It is the goal of Fall Mountain Regional School District that all students reach their social, artistic, academic, and physical potential.
