The Fall Mountain Regional School Board is pleased to announce a clear, positive path forward for our district’s leadership. After careful evaluation of our operational requirements and with a focus on maintaining educational stability, academic progress, and cooperative governance, the School Board has officially appointed Christopher Young as the Senior Educational Official pursuant to RSA 194:C4 for the Fall Mountain Regional School District. This appointment formally concludes the board's leadership search.
In making this decision, the Board recognized that the ideal candidate to guide Fall Mountain forward was already serving within our administrative team. Mr. Young brings an exceptional combination of professional qualifications, a long and distinguished history of service within our schools, and a deep, values-driven alignment with the goals of SAU 60. By appointing an established, trusted leader, the district ensures complete continuity for our students, staff, and families during the upcoming school year.
Mr. Young’s professional journey within the Fall Mountain Regional School District spans over a decade of leadership. He has served the district at multiple levels of school and central office administration, gaining an intimate, hands-on understanding of our educational communities, facilities, and academic requirements:
Assistant Principal, Alstead Primary School — Prior to 2013, Mr. Young served as the Assistant Principal at Alstead Primary, working directly with teachers, students, and local families to foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
Principal, Charlestown Primary School — In June 2013, the School Board appointed Mr. Young as Principal of Charlestown Primary. In this role, he established a strong reputation as a transparent, responsive, and highly collaborative instructional leader.
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment —In January, 2025 Mr. Young subsequently transitioned to the SAU 60 District Office, where he oversaw district-wide academic standards, student achievement metrics, and professional staff development.
Senior Educational Official — In September 2025, the board voted to establish the Leadership Team as the governing administrative body responsible for district decision-making with Mr. Young serving as the Senior Educational Official. With this permanent appointment, he transitions fully into the head district leader role.
With Mr. Young officially appointed to lead SAU 60, our focus shifts entirely to supporting our administrative team and educators in delivering an outstanding educational experience.
