The New Hampshire Department of Education (NHDOE), Bureau of Special Education Support (Bureau) has launched the 2023 Parent Involvement Survey in Special Education as part of the 603 Bright Futures Survey.

The NHDOE is required by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), Part B State Performance Plan (SPP) and the Annual Performance Report (APR), to report the percent of parents with a child receiving special education services who report that schools facilitated parent involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with disabilities. All districts are required to administer the survey and we will not administer the survey in cohorts as we have in the past.

The intent of the 603 Bright Futures Survey is to have as many families complete the survey as possible. As families begin the survey, the first question they will be asked is whether or not they are responding on behalf of a student with an IEP?

If their response is YES, they will be asked the Indicator 8 questions in addition to the general survey questions.

he New Hampshire Department of Education wants to hear from staff, families, and community members in our school community.
